The recent case in Melbourne involving a childcare workers alleged child sexual abuse crimes
has highlighted, in the most distressing way, the need for heightened vigilance when vetting staff
in early childhood settings (centres).
At MERCY, we understand the responsibility childcare centres carry in protecting children and believe that private investigation can play a significant role. To support centres in Queensland with this important duty of care, we are offering professional background checks and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT) services designed to identify risks or concerns that may not appear in standard criminal history checks.
In this instance, our services include:
-
Comprehensive OSINT review of current and prospective staff – this includes, investigative background check; and surface web and dark web monitoring to identify any compromised data or criminal association.
-
Reporting on online presence, public domains, and other risk indicators.
-
Ethical and privacy-compliant processes aligned with best-practice investigation standards; and
-
Workplace Investigations.
At MERCY, we have decided to offer these services at a reduced rate exclusively
for childcare providers, recognising the critical importance of child safety and the current
heightened public concern.
